Moffat View successes

The suspect was arrested and taken to Moffat View Police Station.

OVER the week of October 10 to 17, Moffat View SAPS arrested 52 suspects for various crimes: armed robbery – one, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) – four, assault GBH under domestic violence – one, business robbery – two, car-jacking – one, crimen injuria – one, dealing in liquor without a license – one, drunken driving – 12, fraud – one, intimidation – one, malicious damage to property – three, murder – one, possession of dagga – five, possession of suspected stolen goods – five, sexual assault – one, shoplifting – seven and theft – five.

Four suspects arrested for theft of diesel

MOFFAT VIEW SAPS arrested four suspects in connection with diesel theft on October 13.

Capt Laulus Johannes Jochus Foucho and Capt Lead Barnard were patrolling in Matthews Street, Regents Park when they saw a parked truck. As they approached it they saw three men and asked to search them and found a plastic pipe and two plastic containers next to the diesel tank. On the left and the right side of the truck there was a 25 litre container full of diesel. They also found another five 25 litres of diesel in the truck.

Another male arrived and said he was the one who buys the diesel and sell it for R200.The unknown male was also arrested and taken to Moffat View Police Station.

One suspects arrested for drugs

SGT William Thobejane and Const Jan Malape from Flying Squad were, during a special operation on October 13, patrolling Rand Stadium, Rosettenville. At about 11.15am they noticed an African male who was acting suspiciously. They approached him and identified themselves. They then asked to search him. He was in possession of dagga which was found in a front pocket of his pants. The dagga was wrapped in a yellow paper. The suspect was arrested and taken to Moffat View Police Station.
