Death mile: Tribute to young man

“Family and friends mourn the man who’s gone, whom we lost so tragically. But we’ll remember him.”

Tributes are pouring in for a man who lost his life after he was fatally hit by a motorist in Forest Hill, south of Johannesburg, on March 4.

Sean Subramoney (42) was reportedly struck by a speeding motorist in a VW Golf on Carter Road.

He was cremated in Durban on March 9, the same day a memorial was held for him on Carter Road.

Daniel Kroukamp, a close friend of Subramoney’s, said the motorist attempted to flee but was stopped by onlookers.

The COURIER contacted Subramoney’s sister, Valerie Naidoo, who shared some details of her brother.

DAMAGE: This car was apparently involved in the accident that claimed Sean Subramoney’s life in Carter Street, Forest Hills, on March 4.

In her tribute, she wrote, “Having you as an older brother has been a blessing in my life, and yes, not every day throughout our childhood was pleasant.

“Oh, what a brother you were. No other brother would build you a car in a day so that I could go to my matric debs balls. You gave me my carriage. Thank you, my prince.
