We asked the community how they feel about the escape of so many prisoners at once.

THEMBINKOSI MTOLO “I don’t like them. Vacant houses are just a nest for corruption in the South. The police needs to get rid of it. They only take it seriously when there is mob justice.”

After the Department of Correctional Services released the names, pictures and offences of the 16 remand detainees who escaped from Johannesburg Correctional Services, we asked the community how they feel about the escape of so many prisoners at once.

ERIC NTISANI “This is not good. These people need to be captured and serve their time as they have done wrong.”
SHARON DAVIS “They must be caught as soon as possible. This number is too much, at least if it was one person, but 16? No, they must be rearrested.”
ISAAC DAVIS “It is impossible. What went wrong inside? It is unbelievable that so many dangerous prisoners escape at once.”
FAROUK KHAN “This shows that there is not enough security in that prison to keep the inmates locked inside.”
