Animal Anti-Cruelty reaches its 5 000kg Mandela Day target of pet food donation
Pets felt some Mandela Day love too through huge petfood donations from the community.
ANIMAL Anti-Cruelty League has reached its Mandela Day target to collect 5 000kg of pet food to feed animals in their care.
AACL marketing manager Carren Nickloes said the organisation was still expecting more donations from other organisations keen to help the project.

“We are grateful to organisations that have been supporting this initiative leading up to the Mandela Day. We are also expecting more donations over the weekend. We extend our gratitude to the community and their continued contribution towards the love and care of our animals,” she said.
Each month hundreds of animals enter the Johannesburg facility for a variety of reasons. These include animals that have been confiscated from abusive homes and those whose owners are unable to take care of them. Stray animals form part of pets that enter the facility.
