Pink ladies fingerprinting and awareness programme
Pink Ladies has urged members of the community (all ages) to get fingerprinted and profiled for safety reasons.
PINK Ladies, in partnership with Glenvista and New South Residents Association (Gansra), held an awareness day at Belem Cafe & Restaurant in Glenanda on Saturday, July 21 to assist the Johannesburg South community with fingerprinting and profiling of all age groups.
The programme is one of the many projects that Pink Ladies are involved in across Gauteng to ensure the safety of both children and adults in the province.
“We have no age limit in what we do because anyone can go missing hence it’s important to come over and get profiled. This helps the police with cleared details in their search and rescue departments,” said Gale Fick from Pink Ladies.

Pink Ladies are partners with SAPS and their missing people project has been running for over four years to assist police with the search and rescue of children and adults.
The awareness is free of charge, however, the organisation accepts donations that can be contributed towards its welfare and mission.
“We are doing this drive across Gauteng and the turnout has been amazing, however, we hope people can come forward and get profiled. It may not be important today but in the future you might need it,” she added.
The organisation also moves around crèches, preschools and primary schools during the week to ensure that many people get profiled.
“The photo in one’s profiled certificate should always be updated as that will be very helpful whenever the worst happens. It is also important to remember what your child is wearing every single day. It’s one of the most important things the police need to know when someone goes missing,” Gale said.

The awareness programme will continue in other surrounding areas around Gauteng and members of the community are urged to get their families profiled.
