Gansra donates books to Glenanda library

The book drive will continue as libraries are always in need of new book stocks.

GLENVISTA and new south residents association (Gansra) donated a number of books to Glenanda library as part of their community engagement projects in honour of late former president Mandela Day celebrations on July 20.

Libraries are always in need of more books and the donation managed to help stock up some shelves.

Gansra has been involved in a book drive where it urges members of the community in the South to donate any books and reading material for donation to different libraries in the South.

Gansra marketing director Kim Kotze expressed gratitude to members of the community who helped in donating some books for the library.

“We will be doing another drive to collect more books for our libraries and more members of the community should get involved in this project. A special mention to John De Melo, Karen Nell De Melo, Olivia Govender, Felisha Koller Da Silva and Ronel Slabbert for making this possible,” she said.

Ward 23 councillor Sarah Wissler, who was also present during the donation, hailed Gansra for the notable contribution it was doing to the community.

She urged more members of the community to get involved and donate novels and children’s books for the libraries
