Women’s Day stylish celebration in Robertsham

Women’s Day event fruitful

ROBERTSHAM Methodist Church hosted a Women’s Day celebration event on Sunday, August 26 in Robertsham.

The theme was ‘dock on fleck’. Most of the women that were present displayed stylish docks. The aim of the celebration was to celebrate women’s bravery and the impact that women make on society.

“Some of the young girls in the community of Robertsham gave their lives to drugs, prostitution and other illegal activities so the Methodist Church wanted to reach out to them through the day’s celebration,” said Mamokite Mopeli.

Guests and dignitaries were spoiled with different kinds of food and motivational speakers. One of the speakers was Mervyn Nair, a transformational life coach who talked about self-motivation and self-inspiration.

“We organised this event with the purpose of reaching out to old and young women. Every woman present followed the theme of ‘dock and fleck’ which was staged to create fun and so that women can pride themselves with their style of fashion,” said Mamokite.
