Hadida rescued from torture

Bird rescued after car being found.

SOWETO Animal Rescue and Advisory Centre (SARAC) and Booysens SAPS rescued a bird (Hadida) as it was being tormented by a man and his two sons on Saturday, August 25 at Port Street in Chrisville.

This rescue comes after a stolen car was found by Booysens SAPS and SARAC. As Warrant Officer Emile Grobler and Constable Michael Cronje were assessing the damages and searching for clues during their search, they heard a noise just a few meters away from the crime scene. They decided to go and check it out and what they saw was disturbing and painful as three individuals were tormenting a bird.

It was reported that the bird didn’t sustain any injuries during the torment and was taken to Oakdene Vet for treatment.

Lorraine van Emmerik from Booysens SAPS confirmed to the COURIER that the perpetrators were not charged.
