UPDATE: Angry Booysens resident set shack alight

Fire destroyed 16 shacks.

WHEN Ward 124 Councillor Mongameli Mnyameni heard about the incident he called the disaster management to assist the affected families with food parcels and blankets.

“I have also arranged a temporary shelter at the clinic and in one of the local churches and both parties agreed to house the affected families that are struggling to rebuild their shacks.

“But, the most important thing is to find a permanent solution to the crises of Booysens informal settlement because we can’t be playing cheap politics with serious issues affecting our people,” said Mnyameni.

Mnyameni will meet with MMC for Housing on October 1 to address the same issues of service delivery for not only Booysens informal settlement but EMaxhosani, kwaMnuamandawe, kwaMadondo and Orphirton.
