Annual ANC OR Tambo commemoration
Speakers on the day will include Police Minister Bheki Cele, former Police Minister Fikile Mbalula, Fees Must Fall activist Mcebo Dlamini and Provincial Legislature deputy speaker Nomantu Ralehoko.

IN keeping with the spirit of the ANC’s 106 years celebrations, the OR Tambo Branch will hold its seventh OR Tambo Commemoration Anniversary on October 27.
It will be held at Rosettenville Central Primary School from 11am. This commemoration began in 2012 following the renaming of the branch after the longest-serving former ANC president, OR Tambo, who studied and also taught at St Peter’s School in Victoria Street, Rosettenville.
This annual programme, as it seeks to pay tribute and demonstrate appreciation for the immense contribution made by this late freedom fighter to the liberation of South Africa, will also give the residents an opportunity to interact with the government authorities to provide mechanisms to arrest some of the thorny societal challenges, such as crime facing the communities and lack of development of the communities, in particular Ward 56. The branch chose this date as it is also Tambo’s birthday.
Speakers on the day will include Police Minister Bheki Cele, former Police Minister Fikile Mbalula, Fees Must Fall activist Mcebo Dlamini and Provincial Legislature deputy speaker Nomantu Ralehoko. The theme will be United in Tambo’s legacy towards a united community.
This event will be concluded with a cake cutting and entertainment session in celebration of Tambo’s birthday.
People with their own cars are advised to use the school entrance along Petunia Street into the school grounds where they will find safe parking with security.
