Increase in house robberies in the Mondeor policing area

When homeowners are at home between 8pm and the early hours of the mornings, criminals target the homes.

MONDEOR policing area has seen an increase in crimes of house robberies in this past week.

These house robberies were committed mostly in the areas of Glenvista, Bassonia, Alveda Park and Kibler Park.

When homeowners are at home between 8pm and the early hours of the mornings, criminals target the homes.

Mondeor SAPS, in conjunction with the CPF and security companies, have adopted an approach towards prevention, combating and investigating these incidents and would like to urge the communities to always be on the alert and use the following safety tips:

• Ensure domestic workers know when someone is expected to come to the house.

• They must not allow strangers on the premises without having properly identified them.

• They must not approach people at the gate. It is safer to be inside behind locked doors.

• Never tell anyone they are alone in the house.

• Homeowners must invest in a good security measure.

Always try to get to know your neighbours.
