New organisation to help people of Rosettenville
Organisation ready to empower residents of Ward 56.
PHAKAMA Mzansi is a recently launched non-profit organisation that aims to empower the residents of Rosettenville and surrounding areas.
The vision and mission of the organisation are to improve the standard of living, particularly for low-income earners.
Nhlanhla Dlamini, the CEO of the organisation, told the COURIER that residents need to be taught how to handle their finances, even if they are not working.
“As an organisation we have noticed that most low-income earners and poor people struggle to bury their loved ones with dignity because they cannot afford the subscriptions. Also, most low-income earners do not get assistance from the banks to buy property because the banks want more than they can afford. This is why we have come up with a strategy that will help them to improve their lives,” said Dlamini.
All South Africans may join the organisation as long as they have a South African ID. The once-off membership joining fee is R600.
Benefits of joining this organisation: Everyone who will join the organisation will get assistance to buy a property without paying any deposit and every member will be entitled to a funeral cover.
“We are partnering with a few community radio stations to help us reach out to a number of people and make the organisation known in the country since we need a lot of people to achieve our dream,” added Dlamini.
