Learners learn a lot at Absolute Aviation Group

Winds of Change Church, Mondeor, and Glenvista high schools were granted an opportunity of a lifetime as they toured an aviation company.

WINDS of Change Church, Mondeor, and Glenvista high schools were granted an opportunity of a lifetime as they toured an aviation company on March 26.

Absolute Aviation Group hosted the learners with the purpose of educating and introducing them to the world of aviation. Nisha Naidoo, HR manager, and Lizeré Malan, marketing manager, welcomed the learners by offering them shirts labeled Absolute Aviation.

Before everything began they were briefed about the history of the company and how it functions. Wim van Den Hoek, who specialises in piston engines, showed the visitors a Skyhawk engine that they received from overseas. Also, other engineers who are working at different engines in the service center met with the young ones and shared their knowledge. Learners were reminded that to take aviation as a career physical science and mathematics are important.

The aviation adventure continued with the learners being introduced to Jason Beamish, an aerobatic pilot, and ambassador of Absolute Aviation, along with his colleague Keaton Perkins, customer services and support coordinator, who shared with them insightful information about training to be a pilot.

A session of questions and answers was conducted as learners asked all sorts of questions regarding aviation. The pilot and engineers answered all questions with great detail. After the tour was over learners were spoiled with lunch.

Pastor Taguta Dube from Winds of Change Church thanked the Absolute Aviation Group for their generosity and time, for enlightening and exposing the young people on the world of aviation.
