Itumeleng chats with COURIER

She made her first appearance on South African screens in the late 90s where she was doing commercials at the age of three years. She went on to land a big role in her career on YOtv Blue Couch.

RHYTHM City actress Itumeleng ‘Itu’ Bokaba (24), known for her bubbly character Mampho in e.tv soap opera visited COURIER offices to share her life experiences in the entertainment industry.
She made her first appearance on South African screens in the late 90s where she was doing commercials at the age of three years. She went on to land a big role in her career on YOtv Blue Couch.
Itumeleng, who was born in Alexandra and matriculated at St Mary’s School in Waverley, is currently residing in the south of Johannesburg.
She studied drama at The South Africa Film, Acting and Theatre Academy (SAFATA) for a year before landing her big role at Rhythm City in 2012.
Rhythm City is the first soap opera she was ever cast for and she hopes to grow her career to become one of the biggest household names in the industry.
She recently signed with Kalawa Jazmee recording company as she is looking to elevate her music career.

“I love singing. It has been always been my dream to sing at a professional level and I hope this deal with Kalawa will see me grow in the music industry,” said Itumeleng.
Itumeleng told the COURIER she would love to work with Fergusons Films one day. “Their way of portraying and telling a story is amazing therefore working with them will elevate me. I will hope and dream until Fergusons gives me a call,” said Itumeleng.

In her spare time, she loves browsing on the internet to see what the new trends are.
Her favourite actor and actress she has ever come across are her colleagues Jamie Bartlett and Samkelo Ndlovu. She says she enjoys chatting with her fans.

“I will never turn my back at my fans. I love them too much,” added Itumeleng.

Lastly, she said she is off the market for relationships since she is happy with her boyfriend.
