Judith Akai complains about speeding motorists in South Hills
She said she nearly lost her beloved grandchild who was nearly ran over by a speeding vehicle three times in a space of a month.
A SOUTH Hills resident is up in arms with the way in which motorists recklessly use the driveway at Cotsdene.
The concerned resident, Judith Akai, said she has no problem with the driveway, but it is the negligent way the motorists use it that is of concern to her, using it as a raceway course, with no consideration for the children.
She said she nearly lost her beloved grandchild who was nearly ran over by a speeding vehicle three times in a space of a month.
Akai believes the only person motorists will listen to is the ward councillor.
Speaking to the COURIER, she said shouting at speeding motorists has become her daily preoccupation, and earned her their anger.
“Our councillor is the only person who can help. I’m not against motorists passing by, but my concern is the speed. Issues like these need to be addressed before people lose their children, and elderly people lose their lives.
“The police have been called but nothing has changed,”said Akai.
However, she still hopes for a better response from the councillor.
The COURIER contacted Ward 57 Clr Faeeza Chame and she promised to reach out to Akai.
The COURIER will give its readers an update.
