More cable theft in La Rochelle

There were still a few meters left to be cut and collected.

WHILE doing a clean-up campaign in La Rochelle, Forest Street, Ward 57 councillor Faeeza Chame came across a trench that was dug open with City Power cables already cut.

There were still a few meters left to be cut and collected.

“I immediately contacted a City Power team. They came out to the area that I identified to them and confirmed that thieves are behind this. Cases of theft and malicious damage to property have been opened at Moffat View SAPS.

“I would like to encourage our residents to report such incidents of cable vandalism. Every week La Rochelle residents have power issues where normally the technicians could not find the fault,” she said.
