A SUSPECT was arrested by JMPD for possession of and dealing in drugs on May 28 in Robertsham.
According to Booysens SAPS communications officer Capt Lorraine van Emmerik, the JMPD K9 Unit noticed a suspicious-looking charcoal-coloured Toyota Corolla while on patrol. The suspect was in the vehicle while another person, who is believed to be a buyer, was approaching the vehicle.
When members of JMPD closed in on the suspect he tried to flee, but was stopped. The person who was approaching the suspect’s vehicle walked away.
“The suspect was searched and drugs were found in his possession. The members questioned the suspect. The suspect took the members to a house where more drugs were found. The suspect was placed under arrest for dealing in drugs and was taken to Booysens SAPS,” said van Emmerik.
The investigation is ongoing and the suspect will appear in the Booysens Magistrate’s Court soon.
