Disused stand posing danger to Rosettenville residents
According to residents, who spoke on condition anonymity for fear of reprisals, said the stand is a breeding place for drug addicts, and a dumping site where residents dump waste and dead animals.
IRATE residents want the filthy and smelly vacant stand at Bouquet Street in Rosettenville to be attended to by the ward councillor for Ward 56, Clr Michael Crichton.
According to residents, who spoke on condition anonymity for fear of reprisals, said the stand is a breeding place for drug addicts, and a dumping site where residents dump waste and dead animals.
The residents say the stand has been in this condition for a several years, and they now demand the councillor to put a stop to the irregular activities happening in that stand.
What frustrates residents more is that, at night, people use the stand as a “brothel”, a hiding spot for motorists to park their cars and engage in sexual activities.
One of the residents the stand is creating all sort of problems for the residents.
“This place is dirty and its smells. We can’t take it anymore. Something needs to done so that we can live freely as residents,” said the resident
He said the place is infested with rats.
The COURIER tried to no avail get a comment from Crichton.
