
BOOYSENS SAPS received a message through radio control from Langlaagte SAPS requesting a backup as they chased a suspicious blue VW Golf 7 with two different registration plates on July 7.
SAPS members gave chase as a backup, and on the corner of Alamein Street and Kimberly Minor Road, Robertsham, the police spotted the vehicle.
They stopped the vehicle and two passengers who were inside it. The SAPS followed a procedure and searched the vehicle and occupants.
One suspect was found to have a firearm with one magazine with live rounds in his possession.
In the vehicle on the passenger side, there was three magazines found loaded with live rounds.
There were also five cellphones, a set of house keys and a South African ID book which did not belong to the occupants of the vehicle.
The suspects were arrested for being in possession of unlicensed firearm and a stolen vehicle. Investigations are on-going.
