Full Gospel Church of God says no to gender-based violence
Victims of gender-based violence, xenophobic attacks and drugs get support from church.
THE Full Gospel Church of God hosted a Black Sunday on September 15 in Turffontein in support of fighting gender-based violence.
The congregants were all dressed up in black as a symbol of the morning and showing empathy to those who are victims of gender-based violence, xenophobic attacks and drugs.
Past Jack Chirwa didn’t preach on the day as he dedicated the day in seeking God’s intervention in regards to gender-based violence, xenophobic attacks and drugs.
Police officials from Booysens SAPS and other distinguished guests from various organisations were present, showing support and sharing a few words of encouragement.
Chirwa told the congregants they need people to respect women from all walks of life. Also, women should be taken seriously and honoured because they are also created in God’s image.
According to the statement received from the church, they will continue hosting such events which will support women and fight xenophobic attacks as well as drug abuse.
