WATCH: Local dentist and philanthropist hosts Waja Ka Meno Dental Day
Waja Ka Meno Dental Day is an inspiring programme founded by Dr Shoukat Waja, a local dentist and philanthropist.
A FUN-FILLED day was hosted for disadvantaged and differently abled learners by The Waja Ka Meno Trust at Mac’s Party Venue in Eikenhof on October 23.
This year’s event started with the table tennis show, followed by dance and song performances by schools such as Al Muneer, Don Mattera, Adelaide Tambo and Jiswa, to name a few.
Waja Ka Meno Dental Day is a programme founded by Dr Shoukat Waja, a local dentist and philanthropist. The trust was founded with the aim of providing free maxillofacial surgery, reconstructive dental surgery and general dental care to disabled and vulnerable children.

Taariq Uwais Malinga performed inspirational songs for the learners, while Abdul Manack, a motivational speaker, told the learners that a smile is everything in a person.
One of the sponsors, Southgate Mall, brought Kids Board, a group of youngsters who distributed educational booklets to the learners. They also organised Maponya 911, an emergency medical services provider.
Just before Dr Waja performed Faith by George Michael, his trust received R500 000 worth of dental health products from Wright Milners. Sponsors for the day were Wright Millners, Amka, Polar Ice-cream, Spur Corporation, Colgate, Ivodent, Adcock Ingram, Southgate Mall, Total Southgate, Osbro, Tayob Trust, Park Stationers, Cisko’s, Campus Motors, Celltone, Dis-chem Southgate, Chicken Licken: Fordsburg, Oases Lenasia, Oya Sweets, Fordsburg Clinic and Centre of Advanced Medicine.
