Thanks to Betway South Africa’s spirit of giving back to the community, Christmas came early for the Soweto Home for the Aged in Mofolo on December 11.
As part of the brand’s ongoing commitment to making a difference in communities across the country, Betway, alongside some of the Betway 12th Man graduates and brand ambassador Lucas Radebe, partnered with the Soweto All Stars FC to play their part in bringing festive cheer to the elderly.
This special time saw Betway donate much-needed food parcels and, in realising the importance of exercise in curbing physical ailment, exercise equipment to encourage the elderly to lead a healthy and active lifestyle.
Speaking from the Soweto Home for the Aged, Betway marketing manager, David Rachidi, said, “We are proud to have left lasting legacies for a number of clubs and federations across the country, and today marks the conclusion of all the 2019 life-changing community initiatives from Betway. As a brand we understand the significant role played by our elderly citizens and this donation is a small token of appreciation to them. They have increasingly become our pillars of society that are raising our future sports stars.”
As part of the day’s proceedings, Betway also made a donation to the Soweto All Stars Club that included soccer balls and training equipment ahead of their festive season tournaments.
The handover was also graced by Betway 12th Man graduates Steve Sekano and Sibongile Khumalo, as well as brand ambassador Lucas Radebe.
