A MAN was sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment on December 12 for a house robbery, which took place on November 6, 2017, in Winchester Hills.
According to the statement received from Booysens SAPS, the victim was in her room when she noticed an unknown male in her property.
Being terrified she locked all the doors. While inside her room a male she knew broke into her room and strangled her.
The unknown male joined in and strangled her too.
They then tied her up and left her in her room and both suspects, plus another three, went into the main house and ransacked it, seizing all house belongings after which they fled.
The victim managed to survive.
Sgt Olebengeng Moshweu took the case and conducted his investigations which led to the arrest of the four men.
Booysens SAPS communications officer, Capt Lorraine van Emmerik, said the docket was taken to court and the other three suspects who were unknown to the victim were released and charges against them were withdrawn.
