WATCH: Residents march against senseless violence in Bellavista

The protest was a peaceful one to call for an end to murders on the streets of Bellavista.

Family and friends of young people who died in Bellavista because of violence were joined by concerned residents for a peaceful march on March 14.

The group marched through the streets to the location where several young men died to pay their respects and raise their voices against the violence in their society.

Accompanied by a marching band, the group sang and chanted ‘enough is enough’ through the streets.

The sentiment on the day was that the residents would no longer stand for the senseless murder of their children and called on authorities to safeguard the area.

The group erected a cross at places where young people died and a wreath-laying ceremony was also conducted by the community.
