Security guard shot chasing down alleged looters in Turffontein

An employee of a security company in Johannesburg has suffered multiple gunshot wounds chasing down alleged looters on Bishop Road, Turffontein, on Saturday afternoon.

It is believed that men jumped from the taxi being followed and opened fire on his vehicle.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 3.30 pm where they found the security company’s paramedic already treating the 51-year-old man on the sidewalk.

The patient was in a serious condition and advanced life support interventions were required to stabilise him before being transported to a private hospital for further care.
