JSPCA open for adoption
“We are excited to be opening the adoption kennels. What people should know is that strict measures will be taken,” said Liana Marx from JSPCA.

With strict lockdown regulations the JSPCA had been unable to proceed with adoptions. But with recent announcement that lockdown is moving to Level 3, they are open for adoptions.
“We are excited to be opening the adoption kennels. What people should know is that strict measures will be taken,” said Liana Marx from JSPCA.
However, strict measures are still in place. These are:
• Viewings are strictly done by appointments only.
Failure to turn up will automatically cancel your application and you will have to make a new appointment.
• You must wear a face mask when entering the property. Anyone who turns up without a mask will be turned away.
• All visitors will be sprayed with a disinfectant before entering the kennels area. This is not only done to protect yourself, but to protect the staff as well.
For more details about adoptions you can contact 011 681 3600 or email kennels@jhbspca.co.za to make a booking.
“To avoid disappointment, make your booking now to ensure you have a time slot allocated to come and view animals for adoption.”
The JSPCA charity shop will also open on the June 1. Operating hours are Monday to Friday from 9.30am till 3pm. Only one person will be allowed to enter the shop at a time.
“As masks are compulsory you will be turned away if you are not wearing a mask. Anyone entering the shop will also be sprayed with a disinfectant,” she said.
The hospital will be providing the following services by appointment only:
• Annual vaccinations and vac packages
• Microchipping and nail clipping
• Disposals and euthanasia
• Dentals
Please contact the hospital on 011 681 3600 or email admin@jhbspca.co.za to make an appointment or to find out more. At the vet shop there is a wide range of food, toys, and accessories available for your pets.
