One hijacked vehicle recovered, white VW Polo.

Johannesburg Flying Squad members arrested eight suspects for different crimes in different areas in Johannesburg from July 10 to 13.

During these arrests, they also recovered one 9mm Norinco firearm with the serial number filed off and one hijacked vehicle.

Among the eight suspects, three suspects were arrested for contravening the Disaster Management Act of 2020 and five suspects were arrested for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

The hijacked vehicle recovered is a white VW Polo.

Johannesburg Flying Squad communications officer Raymond Sambo said investigation continues in all cases.

“Working with the community led to these recoveries. SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution.
“It should also be noted that for any information regarding the vehicles, people may contact the relevant detective quoting the relevant case number.

“All suspects, aged between 20 and 30, appeared in different magistrate’s courts facing charges of possession of unlicensed firearm and contravening the Disaster Management Act of 2020,” he said.
