WATCH: Door of Hope celebrates 21st birthday
“We had our partner organisations watching with us and also people who were involved in making the production a success."
The Door of Hope celebrated their 21st birthday on August 8 and it turned out to be a success.
Head of communications Desarae Pillay said it was an amazing virtual event.
“Our YouTube video was added on Saturday at 7 am to our channel Door of Hope Children’s Mission Johannesburg South Africa. We had people who were watching from across the world,” explained Pillay.
She said they also had past donors and families who had become forever families through Door of Hope.
“We had our partner organisations watching with us and also people who were involved in making the production a success. “Pastor Cheryl Ellen who founded the organisation was one of the highlight interviews as well as Georgina Smith who was the first baby who came to the Door of Hope.”

She added “In the video, we also had the Msibi family who had an interview with the organisation on the video.
“People have messaged us during the airing of the YouTube video, commending on the great job we have been doing in sharing stories of hope, love, and family during these challenging times,” said Pillay.
Overall, it was a resounding success, and Door of Hope is thrilled to have reached 21 years and grateful to the community of supporters. both locally nationally and internationally.
They are looking forward to helping and be a place of safety for many more children.
