The case against businessman Deon Pillay was postponed to November 10 at Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court on October 19.
He is accused of theft, fraud, and contravening the Prevention of Organised Crimes Act.
To date, the case has been postponed two times. Pillay was granted R50 000 bail on August 25.
According to Lucky Sindane, spokesperson of the City’s Group Forensic and Investigation Services, the City of Johannesburg procured 570 desktops from Pillay’s company in 2014 and he failed to deliver them, although he was paid R8.5-million.
