Forest High School partners with its councillor

Ward 124 councillor Momngameli Mnyameni recently helps the school to fix their toilets and he is in the process of getting other repairs at the school done.

The adoption of Forest High School by Ward 124 councillor Mongameli Mnyameni has yielded positive results.

He recently helped the school to fix their toilets and he is in the process of getting other repairs at the school done.
Forest High is over 100 years old.

“It is important to do some positive things at the school. I have tried to get a contractor to fix the toilets and the basins at the school. It was also done with the help of Johannesburg Development Agency. Moving forward, I will try and assist the school where I can,” he said.

The school appreciated the intervention of the councillor and applauded the commendable job done by the contractors.

Mark Petersen, the school’s principal, said in his over 16 years at the school, Mnyameni is the first councillor to actually promise something and do it.

“I have met with other councillors before, but councillor Mnyameni is the first to actively do something. Everyone comes here, inspects the school and go, nothing has materialised. What he has done saved us a lot of money.

“He has also promised to revamp our staff room chairs and improve the look and image of the school. He comes on a regular basis just to see the school’s progress. I can rely on him and he is fully accessible at all times,” explained Petersen.
