South Hills Boxing Club celebrates two Gauteng champions
Jeandre and Jeshua won gold at the Gauteng Championships and now need sponsorship to compete at nationals in Kimberley.
South Hills Boxing Club is celebrating a remarkable achievement after two of its boxers, Jeandre Louw and Jeshua Gangara, claimed gold medals at the 2026 Gauteng Boxing Championships.
Their success is a testament to the hard work and dedication they have shown throughout their training. By securing gold at the provincial championships, both boxers have earned the opportunity to represent Gauteng at the South African National Championships in Kimberley at the end of September.
Coach Lyle Fortoen expressed his pride in the young champions and the effort they have put into reaching this level.
“We are extremely proud of both Jeandre and Jeshua. They have worked incredibly hard to achieve this success and we know they will represent Gauteng and South Hills Boxing Club with pride at the national championships.”
The upcoming national championships will be an exciting next step for Jeandre and Jeshua as they take on some of the country’s best young boxing talent.
Representing Gauteng at a national level is a significant achievement, not only for the two boxers but also for South Hills Boxing Club and the wider community that has supported them.
However, getting the two champions to Kimberley comes with considerable costs. The club is appealing to supporters and members of the community for assistance with travel, accommodation, food and essential kit, including tracksuits.

The estimated cost is approximately R5 200 per boxer for the month-long period away, meaning the club needs to raise funds to help Jeandre and Jeshua participate in the championships.
Every contribution, regardless of size, will help the two boxers travel to Kimberley prepared and focused on the competition.
