Help teenager with aggressive multiple sclerosis
The family and friends of Simera Moonsamy (18) in Haddon need help to afford a critical life-saving medical procedure for her.
She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in April last year. Over the last few months, her health has deteriorated rapidly, resulting in impaired coordination which makes walking impossible, and is now wheelchair-bound.
Neurologist Dr Dominic Giampaolo confirmed in a letter that Simera has been diagnosed with aggressive multiple sclerosis. Although there is no cure, stem cell therapy will help reverse the decline in her condition.
The family is appealing for generosity and kindness in helping them raise R320 000 towards costs well in excess of this amount, to effect the life-saving procedure and post-operative care required.
Simera did her Grade 12 at Hoërskool Die Fakkel last year.
