Rosettenville-based iskhothane ventures to amapiano
Iskhothane Ayanda “Silent Killer” Hadebe (24) from Rosettenville has released an amapiano single called Let’s go, featuring DJ Que Da Floor.
This is a sequel of last year’s hip-hop single titled West-I-Game, which he performed in various places.
“I am a diverse artist. Before I was doing hip-hop and now I am into amapiano because this is a popular genre for young people.
“Reaching out to young people using something they like makes it easier to pass the message. My message is educational, although I rap about myself. I also talk more about the happenings in our community. We need to teach ourselves to be positive people and stay away from wrong things and always strive to improve ourselves for the better,” he said.
Ayanda has been iskhothane for the past 10 years. He said he financed his lifestyle through hard work.
“I work for my money. I perform, do graphic design and web developing in order to afford my lifestyle. These innuendos about us being not responsible are just that.
“We are responsible people who just ‘dress to kill’,” he said.
