WATCH: Four arrested for setting off fireworks after curfew in Brackenhurst

The suspects were arrested on Candlewood Street in Brackenhurst on January 16.

“We received several complaints about gunshots in the Brackenhurst area. It was established, thanks to a member of the public’s CCTV footage that four unknown males were setting off fireworks after curfew,” said Tyrone van der Merwe, sales director from CPS Security.

A description of the vehicle was circulated, and the vehicle was located shortly after by CPS Security reaction officers.

The vehicle was stopped, and Brackendowns SAPS were contacted for assistance.

“Unlicensed ammunition, housebreaking implements, dangerous weapon, and narcotics were found in the vehicle.”

All four suspects were arrested and taken into custody.

On further investigation, it was established that one suspect was positively wanted for housebreaking and another two were wanted for questioning for another case.

” Thank you to Sergeant Moloi and Constable Paile for the quick assistance,” Van der Merwe concluded.
