Disappointed with service delivery in Ward 124
Most of the municipal-owned entities are working with half of the staff – councillor Mnyameni
The current administration in the City of Johannesburg is failing the hard-working residents who pay for their services every month.
Service delivery in Ward 124 is non-existent.
There’s illegal dumping on various corners and streets, potholes are becoming craters, while the long grass in the ward is also getting out of hand.
A few weeks ago residents had to wait four days before their power was restored. The respective entities have been notified but nothing is getting attended to like the latest excuse coming out of the entities is Covid, shortage of resources and the list goes on.
But let the hard-working residents say that they can’t pay their monthly accounts due to lack of income and see what happens to their services.
Resident of Ward 124
Ward 124 councillor Mongameli Mnyameni response:
It is not only the City of Joburg that is been affected by Covid-19 but nationally and internationally the virus has impacted the lives of people, businesses and government very negatively.
Most of the municipal-owned entities are working with half of the staff. But in terms of City Parks, I have communicated with them three weeks ago and have assured me that they are coming to Ward 124 hence all the wards are all affected not Ward 124 only.
Even the JRA have committed that they will try to bring the services to the people. This week some municipal-owned entities were in Ward 55 and next week they will be in Ward 124, unfortunately, they can’t be in all the wards at once.
With the issues of wrong billing, people were advised to go to Thuso House to put their complaints and on my side, I can only respond to only those who came to me and I advised them to go to Thuso House.
Covid-19 is a fact not an excuse and that is why some people even get R350 per month because the government is aware that the Covid-19 has impacted people very negatively.
