Linmeyer Community Animal Rescue (LCAR) hosted a successful bake sale and chipping day on May 29 at 35 Elizabeth Avenue in Linmeyer.
People came from near and far to buy cakes and microchip their pets. The proceeds from cake sales will assist with the sterilisation of the less fortunate animals in and around the suburbs as well as the feeding programme.

With 29 microchipped pets, Chip For Cheaper SA will donate a portion to LCAR. People followed all the instructions by making sure cats were in secure carriers and dogs on a leash.
Ursula Hope from LCAR said words cannot express how blown away they were by the phenomenal support they received at their cake sale.

“It was absolutely amazing. Thank you to everyone who supported us, from the donations to the buying of cakes and candy. Because of all your support we can continue helping less fortunate animals in our suburbs in the South.
“Thank you to National Security and Fire for always having our backs, your participation and support was so appreciated. Thank you to Lifestyle Property for your fantastic support and all the delicious goodies you sponsored, lots of happy tummies all around.

“Thank you to my Alrode feral team for coming through to help and support with delicious treats. Once again all I can say is through unity we are strong. Our mission statement stands strong because of every one of you.
“Big shout out to Trix Osterloh from Chip For Cheaper SA, thank you to you and your fantastic team. We had a good turnout. We definitely have to do this again,” she said.
