Sponsor a pet gift this Christmas

JSPCA is asking the community to sponsor pets for Christmas.

Christmas is just over three months away and the JSPCA is asking the community’s assistance in sponsoring as many Christmas pet gift bags as they can.

JSPCA’s Liana Marx said they are hoping to get as many sponsors as possible for pets in their outreach areas to have a special treat this Christmas.

“By sending an email to pr@jhbspca.co.za to place your order, you do not get the actual bag but you sponsor it and we can make a parcel to give it to a pet,” she said.

“Christmas is a time for giving and this kind gesture will surely make a pet in underprivileged areas very happy.

Each bag has a packet of food, a toy, a bowl, a blanket and a packet of treats. Some pets have never even had a dog treat in their lives. Just think how happy they will be receiving this,” Marx said.

The week before Christmas, the JSPCA team will head out and give out the bags and take loads of photos. Name tags will be placed on the bags for pet owners to know who or which family sponsored their pet.

“R100 can make a difference this Christmas,” said Marx.
