Taxi and bakkie collide, leaving two injured

A man and a child were injured when a taxi and bakkie collided on Park Street in Turffontein on September 22.

Russel Meiring from ER24 said their paramedics and other services arrived at 08:10 to find the taxi on its side on the pavement, while the bakkie was in the middle of the road.

“On assessment, a six-year-old boy was seated inside the bakkie with minor injuries, while a man was lying near the taxi with serious injuries.

“Medics treated the patients and provided the man with pain-relief medication before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care. Local authorities were on scene for further investigations,” he said.
