Large volumes of copper cables recovered in Devland

All power suppliers have been called to the scene.

Large volumes of copper cables were found stored in one of the biggest scrapyards in the Devland area near Soweto, said City Power.

City Power spokesperson Isaac Mangena said the copper cables were discovered this Thursday by Police, JMPD, and City Power’s security.

South Africa has a major problem with copper theft, and the thieves are becoming increasingly brazen and more violent.
