Donate blankets for abandoned babies and children

Your blanket donations will help children this winter.

Hannah Cerfontyne is pleading with the community to help her collect blankets for Door of Hope.

She is a Grade 10 learner at Hoërskool President High School and represents her school as a member of the Johannesburg Student Council. As part of her community outreach, she is doing a blanket drive, ‘Give the Gift of Warmth’, to those in need as winter is approaching.

All blanket donations will be going to Door of Hope, a non-profit organisation that cares for abandoned babies and children.

“I have always felt a need to help people who are unable to help themselves, especially those without a voice like babies and young children. They are helpless and rely on the generosity of people and organisations, such as Door of Hope, to fulfil all their needs.

“Please assist me to make their lives a little better by donating a new or used blanket,” she said.

The blanket drive will end on May 31. All donations can be dropped in the box at the foyer at Hoërskool President High School, 102 Rifle Range Road, during school days between 08:00 and 13:00.
