Gospel H2O raises R5 000 for Door of Hope
An Eikenhof congregation, Gospel H2O, hosted a Farmers Craft Market on June 4.
An Eikenhof community-oriented congregation, Gospel H2O, held its raffle at the Farmers Craft Market to support Door of Hope on June 4.
As a result, R5 000 was raised and all proceeds will go to Door of Hope in the form of vouchers to help with supplies and medication needed for the little ones.
The fundraising event was well attended and described as the biggest ever to be hosted by the congregation.

According to pastor Peter Mills of Gospel H2O, the Farmers Craft Market was also aimed at supporting community members.
“As a church, we thought of helping locals in order for them to make extra cash because many either lost their jobs or have had to endure decreased salaries. It’s not our purpose to make money out of the market, but to assist the community. The amount raised will go towards purchasing vouchers from Dischem,” he said.

He reiterated that Door of Hope is a group of people who do amazing work in saving abandoned babies.
“They are really good people who take care of those children and they need help with medical supplies. We looked for somebody who we thought might benefit from something like this and we then decided to do a raffle. We had people coming around and we were able to not only get people to attend, but to promote the work done by Door of Hope,” said Mills.

Mills said the congregation and community are hugely in favour of such charity events.
He also said they intend to do this once a month, helping many other local charities through their fundraiser events.
