Miss Inspire Pageant focuses on self-development and building positive role models in the communities.
Miss Inspire SA National Pageant 2022/2023 took place on February 5 and Ormonde’s Amina Farouk was crowned the queen of the Miss Inspire SA Women category.
Each year the pageant celebrates the crowning of inspirational young women and teens in South Africa. Others who won were Thandolwethu Mnisi in the Miss Inspire SA Teen category and – and Vanessa Pitsi in the Miss Inspire SA Miss category.
Farouk said the pageant celebrates strong and committed young women who are willing to represent the community as goodwill ambassadors, becoming a role model of today while strengthening their country for tomorrow.
“The enemy facing our youth today is multi-layered, for example, unemployment, peer pressure and teen pregnancy. Often this leads to alcohol and drug abuse, making core problems harder to identify and lead to poor decision-making.
“Miss Inspire South Africa is an all-inclusive pageant. I am physically disabled and I was able to bring home the crown, my motto in life is ability beyond disability. Each category has its own unique requirements, if you feel you are doing amazing work in your community you are encouraged to enter this phenomenal pageant,” she said.
The pageant featured the following categories: Miss Inspire SA Woman 25 to 45 years old, Miss Inspire SA Queen ages 18 to 29 years old, Miss Inspire SA Teen (ages 13 to 18) and Miss Inspire SA Junior (ages nine to 12).
The founder of the pageant Litshani Tshuma said, “We aspire to inspire young girls to engage in meaningful initiatives and to focus on self-development and building positive role models in our communities.”
