Join the Pensioners Friend for their bingo day
Share and connect with peers over a game of bingo.
The Pensioners Friend holds their first bingo day of the year at the Gathering of the Beans Coffee Shop on February 28.
According to Errol and Sharon-Ann Theron of Pensioners Friend, bingo day can cater for 100 pensioners.
“This is a time for seniors looking for fun to get out and mingle with others in their age groups and make new friends.
“I recommend they arrive at 10:00 for a bite to eat and a chat before the bingo begins at 11:00 sharp. We welcome any business support in the form of advertisements, prizes or raffles. Mark this date because we hope to see you there,” they said.
They explained that social engagement is vital for people’s well-being, regardless of age.
“It is probably most vital during a person’s senior years because older adults and the elderly are more susceptible to social isolation than younger people. Besides, it is fun and refreshing to take advantage of the social opportunities that let you share and connect with others in similar situations.
It also helps you navigate the changes that come with growing older. Taking care of your social well-being provides mental and physical health benefits,” the pair said.
