Police recover five cars in Johannesburg

SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution in curbing crime.

Johannesburg Flying Squad members arrested four suspects in the Johannesburg area and recovered five vehicles from March 10 to 13.

Three were for possession of a suspected hijacked vehicle and one was for assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Vehicles recovered are a white UD Truck, a white Mercedes Benz C200 and a blue Ford Fiesta that were hijacked from the owners and a white Hyundai H100 and a Hyundai Atos that were stolen. All vehicles were handed to Aeroton SAP 13.

Johannesburg Flying Squad communications officer, Raymond Sambo said investigations continue in all cases, and working with the community led to these recoveries.

“SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution. It should also be noted that for any information regarding the vehicles, one may contact the relevant detective quoting the relevant case number.

“Four suspects appeared at different magistrate’s courts facing charges of possession of suspected hijacked vehicles and assault with grievous and bodily harm,” he said.
