Eight suspects arrested in Johannesburg

SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution in curbing crime.

Johannesburg Flying Squad members arrested eight suspects in the Johannesburg area and recovered four vehicles from March 17 to 20.

They arrested seven men for possession of suspected stolen vehicles and one for reckless and negligent driving.

Vehicles recovered include a white Scania Truck, a white Toyota Etios and a silver Toyota Etios, all reported stolen and a white Hyundai Tuscon, hijacked from the owner. The officers handed all vehicles to the SAPS Aeroton Vehicle Identification Service Unit.

Johannesburg Flying Squad communication officer, Raymond Sambo, said the investigation continues in all cases. He said working with the community led to these recoveries. “SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution.

Also note, for any information regarding the vehicles, contact the relevant detective quoting the relevant case number.

“The eight suspects appeared at different magistrate’s courts facing charges of possession of suspected stolen vehicles and reckless and negligent driving,” he said.
