Local legendary musician’s release spreads hope and inspiration
Alberton North musician Dr Maureen Tsotetsi, fondly known as Sister Blaze, has collaborated with a former member of Joyous Celebration Tommy Ruele to release a hit song.
With her powerful voice and soulful sound, Dr Maureen Tsotetsi ‘Sister Blaze’ is making waves in the gospel music scene.
She knew from a tender age that she had a gift for singing. Blaze is a gospel artist, TV and radio presenter, author, community worker, and preacher.
As she grew older, she honed her skills and began to perform at local churches and events. Today, she is a sought-after gospel singer known for her inspiring lyrics and heartfelt performances.
Blaze’s music is deeply rooted in her faith. She credits her love of gospel music to her father and siblings who introduced her to the genre at a young age.
“One of my most popular songs is Glory Glory, a stirring anthem that encourages listeners to overcome adversity and stand strong in the face of challenges. The song’s lyrics are a testament to my own struggles, as I’ve faced numerous obstacles in my life,” she said.

She has remained true to her music as she has to her faith. This is exemplified by her recent single I Have A Reason, released on April 4.
“On this single, I have collaborated with a former member of Joyous Celebration, Tommy Ruele. The most rewarding part of my work is the impact it has on others. I have received countless messages from fans who have been touched by my music and messages and inspired to overcome their challenges,” explained Blaze.
