Six suspects arrested, two unlicensed firearms recovered in Johannesburg

Johannesburg Flying Squad (JFS) members arrested six suspects in Johannesburg and recovered two unlicensed firearms and ammunition from June 2 to 5.

Suspects arrested were two for possession of suspected stolen property, one for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition and three for possession of drugs.

A 9mm Norinco and 9mm CZ 7.65 with numbers filed off were recovered. They were booked at Booysens and Dobsonville SAPS.

JFS communications officer Raymond Sambo said the investigation continues in all cases.

“SAPS appreciates the public for their contribution. It should also be noted that any information regarding the vehicles, one may contact the relevant detective quoting the relevant case number.

“Six suspects will appear at different magistrate’s courts facing charges of possession of suspected stolen property, possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunitions and possession of drugs,” he said.
