Tandi Potgieter, a prominent local figure was recently named a board member and communications director for the Woman of Stature Awards.
In the vibrant spirit of Women’s Month, local resident Tandi Potgieter has soared to new heights, leaving a trail of remarkable achievements in her wake.
Potgieter, from Eye of Africa, was named a board member and communications director for the Woman of Stature Awards, on August 9.
The Woman of Stature Awards, a hallmark in celebrating and empowering exceptional women across South Africa and Dubai, proudly announced the addition of esteemed new board members who will be spearheading the awards into its next chapter of growth and impact.
CEO of Woman of Stature Awards, Charlotte du Plessis welcomed the new board members.
They are Tandi Potgieter (Icarus Media) who is the PR, media and communications director, Luella Naidoo (Sparkle) as chairperson, Hazel Bango-Moyo (Primorial Solutions) who was named as financial director, Angelique Smith (Event Synthesis International) who is the new events director, and Thandi Mabena (TCT Enablers) who is the programme director.

Excellence awarded
This recognition underscores Potgieter’s dedication and impactful leadership in fostering growth and recognition of women’s achievements.
Potgieter is also co-director of the Mrs Soweto Female Empowerment Programme along with founder Tshegofatso Mathe (from Aspen Hills) which impacted the lives of the 21 finalists in a five-month empowerment programme.
The highlight of this programme was the grand finale at a glittering event on August 12 which saw Mel Tlhapi from Soweto being crowned as the inaugural Mrs Soweto.
Adding to the celebrations is the victory of Icarus Media, a dynamic player in the industry. As the CEO of Icarus Media, Potgieter proudly announced the company’s triumph as the winner of the Most Innovative Social Media and PR Company 2023 South Africa in the prestigious African Excellence Awards, an announcement that was made in August.

This year, Icarus Media has demonstrated an impressive growth rate of over 100%, a testament to their dedication and strategic approach.
