Help TLC Children’s Home support learners in need

As the school year kicks off, the home has identified a number of supplies that are urgently needed.

As the new school year begins, many of us are filled with the excitement and hope that comes with fresh opportunities for growth, learning, and progress.

For some children, however, the start of school can also bring the reality of missing essential materials or struggling to keep up due to a lack of resources.

This year, as schools prepare to open their doors for another term, TLC Children’s Home is calling on the kindness and generosity of the community to help support local learners who need it most.

At TLC, they believe that education should be accessible to all children, regardless of their circumstances. Yet, for many, the reality is that the school year starts with gaps in essential supplies that are necessary for effective learning.

Managing director, Pippa Jarvis expressed: “We are reaching out to you, our neighbours, friends, and community members, to ask for your support in providing some of the key items that our learners need to get started this year.

“Your generosity, no matter how big or small, will directly impact the education of children in need, and together, we can make a real difference in their lives.”

The small supplies can have a big impact on the young learners.

The following is a list of items that will help the learners succeed in their studies and creative endeavours:
• Six coloured card packs

• Six black paper packs

• Six black card packs

• 12 craft glue

• Four packs of paintbrushes

• Two watercolour paints

• Six Oxford math sets

• 12 printing paper boxes

• Four empty rectangle ice cream tubs

• Flip files

• Four A5 index books (hardcover) (x4)

• Black Takkies (shoes) in sizes 1, 3, two size 4 shoes and 7

• Navy school socks

These items will be used by children across various grade levels, and they are critical in ensuring that every child has access to the materials necessary for a full and enriching educational experience.

Whether they are painting a masterpiece, solving math equations, or simply keeping their notes organized, each of these items plays an important role in making their school year a successful one.
