Rand Park Primary and Glenanda Primary School share the 2025 Kind Cup

The two Johannebsurg South schools have made a meaningful difference to the lives of animals in the care of the AACL-JHB.

Rand Park Primary and Glenanda Primary School have been jointly awarded the AACL-JHB “Kind Cup” floating trophy for 2025, in recognition of their outstanding kindness, generosity and continued support for animals in need.

The Kind Cup was introduced in 2001 and is presented annually to a school that has shown the highest level of support and commitment to the AACL-JHB during the previous year.

In 2025, the efforts of both Rand Park Primary and Glenanda Primary School stood out, earning them the honour of sharing the trophy.

Glenanda Primary School launched a money collection drive in aid of the AACL-Johannesburg. The learners embraced the initiative with great enthusiasm and went the extra mile to support the cause.

Their efforts resulted in an impressive R11 737.20 being raised and handed over to the AACL-JHB.

The school’s generous contribution reflects the compassion and kindness shown by its learners and staff towards animals in need. Glenanda Primary will keep the Kind Cup until June next year.

Rand Park Primary School has also demonstrated a long-standing commitment to supporting the AACL-JHB. The school hosted the “Kindness in a Tin” Small Change Collection Drive in both 2024 and 2025. Its 2025 collection tins raised an outstanding R9 361.

The school’s support has continued into 2026. During its first collection tin drive of the year, Rand Park Primary raised a fantastic R12 193.30. The school is also planning to host a second collection drive in October.

The achievements of both schools are a wonderful example of kindness in action. Their efforts provide valuable support to the hundreds of needy animals in the care of the AACL-JHB and demonstrate how school communities can make a meaningful difference.

The AACL-JHB recognises and appreciates the hard work and generosity shown by both schools.

Schools across the community are encouraged to follow their example and participate in ‘Compassion in Action’ pet food and small-change collection drives during 2026.

Through these initiatives, learners can turn compassion into practical support for animals in need.
